Amethyst Mountain
This Faroe Island scene called to me for a buttery yellow sky. The single gentle mountain peak wanted shades of lavender and purple. What began for me as a playful color experiment grew into a piece I love for its simplicity and the interaction of these 3 gorgeous colors. When I pass it each day in our living room, a sense of peace washes over me.

My landscapes usually begin with a specific place of profound beauty, often somewhere in the Hebrides, Faroe, or Shetland islands. I shift forms and change color so the paintings become not realistic depictions, but my renditions of the sacred and mystical energy I sense.
