As I created this dreamy piece, I felt like I was floating above the clouds, as if in another world. In juxtaposing only blues and pinks, I challenged myself to use the fewest colors to create the most memorable visual effects.

My landscapes begin with a specific place of profound beauty. While I paint, the way I ordinarily see shuts down. I make myself permeable to how color and energy want to move, what they want to become. I shift forms and colors so the paintings become not realistic depictions, but my renditions of the sacred and mystical energy I sense. This activity of altered vision and creation is absolute joy for me.
