These mixed media pieces on wood evolve from my fascination with plants. I meditate and listen to the plants that catch my attention. Out of this comes a sense of a human-like deva or being that attends them. Or sometimes, the human image comes to me first, and after that I sense the plant that she/he connects with. I then use every medium available – colored pencil, charcoal, ink, acrylic, markers, oil, and pastel – to bring them to life on a wood panel.
